PAOC global workers, Darren & Elizabeth, recently deployed to Senegal in mid-September with their adult daughter Janelle. These early days are filled with both excitement and adjustment, sometimes all within the same day. They have just completed a week of sign language training and have shared how meaningful it has been to begin communicating with the Deaf workers on staff. They are also eagerly anticipating the start of the school year and the arrival of the deaf children they will have the privilege of serving.
As a praying community, would you join us in lifting this family before the Lord?
Interestingly, Dakar will soon welcome young athletes from around the world for the first-ever Youth Olympic Games to be held on the continent of Africa. What may seem like a coincidence is also a wonderful reminder that, in this season, the world is quite literally coming to their doorstep.
PRAY for grace and strength as Darren, Elizabeth, and their daughter continue adjusting to life in Senegal, with all its new sights, sounds, and wonderful people.
PRAY for capacity, patience, and God’s help as they continue learning French, sign language, and culture.
PRAY for their sons back home and their daughter with them, that as they navigate the challenges of this new season as a family, each one would experience the Lord’s peace and strength.
