The Bengkulu people of Indonesia, numbering around 69,000, remain one of the least-reached groups in the world. With 99.96% identifying as Muslim and only 0.04% evangelical, there are virtually no known followers of Jesus among them. Many live in rural villages, working hard in modest jobs while facing challenges like limited education, poverty, and recurring flooding. Spiritual life is shaped by a mix of Islam and animistic practices, leaving deep spiritual need.
Our partners on the ground are faithfully building relationships through business, community initiatives, and everyday presence. Yet the need remains urgent, for financial stability, meaningful employment, and, most importantly, gospel access. With so few workers and few known believers, this is a critical moment to pray.
Revelation 7 reminds us that people from every nation and language will worship Jesus, including the Bengkulu. Let’s contend in prayer for that day to come.
