THE PERSECUTED CHURCH

Today, over 380 million Christians all over the world are being persecuted for their faith.

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
Sunday, Nov. 2

Imagine waking up each day knowing that your faith could cost you your freedom⏤or even your life. Christian persecution remains one of the most significant human rights issues happening in our time. Today, over 380 million Christians all over the world are being persecuted for their faith, especially within restricted-access countries where following Jesus is forbidden.

These statistics present some of the recent challenges Christians have faced for standing firm in their faith from Open Doors' World Watch List 2025 report.

7,679 Churches and Christian properties have been attacked

4,744 Christians have been detained for their beliefs

4,479 Christians were killed for their faith

As the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church approaches on Sunday, November 2, we invite you to unite with believers worldwide in prayer for those who follow Jesus where faith costs the most.

Your prayers are more than moments—they are powerful acts of solidarity with brothers and sisters enduring hardship for their faith.

For Strength

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
Philippians 4:13

That God would give persecuted believers courage to endure trials and remain faithful.

Pray For Protection

"...you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."
Psalms 32:7

That persecuted believers would be shielded from harm and comforted by the Holy Spirit’s presence.

Pray for Hope

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 15:13

That persecuted believers would know they are not forgotten, and their faith shines brightly in the darkness.

Resources

Mission Global has assembled a curated list of books, videos, and a prayer guide about the persecuted church to equip you to highlight and support persecuted believers.

Give

Over the past couple of years, Mission Global has continue to provide resources to the rebuilding efforts in Jaranwala after the tragic events in August of 2023. Alongside PAK Mission Society, one of our international partners, we seek to bring restoration through essential resources, training, and support to those in need.
