Asian Outreach Cambodia (AOC) equips rural communities through education and training, breaking cycles of poverty and restoring hope. You can join the team by teaching English, helping students develop skills that expand their academic and career opportunities. Native English speakers with TESOL experience and cross-cultural communication skills are especially valuable. Supported by a locally led Khmer team with orientation, housing, and ongoing mentoring, this role is best suited for those willing to commit 12 months or more.

Purpose

Asian Outreach Cambodia (AOC) provides quality and affordable English language learning that will equip, empower and bring hope to Cambodians for their future. The vision of Asian Outreach Cambodia (AOC) is to restore hope and dignity to Cambodians by breaking the poverty cycle in rural communities. We equip and empower rural communities through training and resource development. AOC is locally run and operated, and we believe in the power of local people for a local vision; people who understand the needs and context of their country best. 

You could join our team, help and encourage students to use effective English language and communication skills and tools that will equip them for their personal, academic and professional lives, thus extending their career and employment opportunities. 

Skills

Native English speaker with good cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with others is required. Qualified teacher with TESOL experience preferred. Those with a sense of adventure and willingness to live and work in a rural town setting will be an asset. Minimum of 12 months commitment preferred.  

Support

Join the vibrant AOC team, who are mainly Khmer. Many speak English as a second language. The team comprises about 20 men and women, and this particular role would be accountable to the Hope Centre Director.  Some on-site training and orientation would be provided, as well as assistance with obtaining visas and accommodation. Ongoing support and mentoring would be available.  

Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
