PAOC global worker, Gary Empey, has a vision to see the Cuban church continue to thrive and grow while also developing their own missional impact to the least reached places around the world. Here is his story:
In 1991, I led a short-term team to evangelize at the Pan American Games being held in Cuba. God arranged a divine meeting between me and a local Havana pastor which resulted in various PAOC churches sending short-term teams to visit the fewer than 300 remote churches on the island. In 1999, we began to see explosive growth all over the island, fruits of a revival that began in 1988. Today, there are well over 2,000 churches! Since 2015, the Cuban church has been sending their own missionaries to least reached people groups around the world, in large part because of our relationship and training with them.
After several years of prayer and planning, the Heavens Gates outreach made its debut in Cuba. Held in three cities, the play saw hundreds of people coming to faith in Jesus. God willing it will continue to be used by the Cuban church in their outreach ministry.
PRAY this explosive growth in Pentecostal believers in Cuba touches every Cuban heart.
PRAY for numerous couples serving among the least reached around the world, that they would see the same fruit as in their home country.
PRAY for Gary as he serves as a catalyst for discipleship and training of leaders that God would give him wisdom, Holy Spirit empowerment and protection.
