More than 88% of Thailand is Buddhist. Thus, the need to spread the Gospel and bring people to Jesus is great. That being said, the evangelical church, particularly the Pentecostal church, is beginning to grow at a rapid rate.
In response to this Gospel need, I (Jim) am the director of all English-language programs at Thailand Pentecostal Seminary, located in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. I have also recently developed and begun teaching a New Testament graduate-level program online. The school offers two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree, besides three certificates, to its current roster of 260 students in-person and online. I (Christine) teach all ESL courses to the students.
We provide GlobalEd Institute’s Ministry Essentials Training Program to national leaders, in order for them to teach the 12-module program to leaders within their communities. Additionally, we both serve at Jaisamarn Church, a bilingual congregation in Bangkok.
We have served in pastoral ministry in Canada for over 30 years, including a number of years in Asian churches. We have both participated in short-term mission trips to Kenya and India. I (Jim) have also taught at a Bible college in Canada and, more recently, engaged in month-long teaching stints at a remote school in North India for four consecutive years.
