Honduras

My vision is to continue reaching teen girls, in Trujillo, Honduras, with the gospel while equipping them with marketable skills and Christian values for the future. You can help make a difference in the lives of young Honduran women living in poverty by providing them with life-changing entrepreneurial skills and discipleship.

Ministry Focus

Many girls in rural areas of Honduras aren’t able to study beyond grade six for economic or other reasons. Girls, in particular, are often expected to work at home, with many becoming young mothers. In fact, the average age of first pregnancy in Honduras is 14.

In response to these needs, at the Mission of Truth and Life Residential Training Centre, our desire is to help break the cycle of poverty and abuse for young women, in order to provide them opportunities for a better future. As the director, I mentor and care for our amazing national staff, oversee our curriculum development, teach classes and devotions, and set the spiritual tone for our staff and students.

At our Centre, our students live on our residences while taking classes in sewing, cooking, computers, English, leadership, finances, business administration, biblical studies, and more. At the end of our two-year program, our graduates receive sewing machines to start their own home-based businesses in their villages!
