Guatemala

My dream is to build meaningful relationships and provide for the educational and spiritual needs of the children and their families involved with ChildCARE Plus Guatemala. You can help Guatemalan children obtain a quality education, who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to go to school, all the while introducing them to Jesus Christ.

Ministry Focus

Out of a population of 17 million, more than 50% of the residents in Guatemala live below the poverty line. Despite education typically being free, many families often can’t afford school uniforms, supplies, and miscellaneous fees. Moreover, over 70% of secondary schools are private, requiring families to pay tuition. Because of this, many students don’t finish education past grade six.

Sensing God’s call to go, I will be heading to Guatemala to help fellow global workers, Hector and Ruth Aragon, run our ChildCARE Plus (CCP) program. CCP Guatemala reaches over 500 children, in 17 locations throughout the country. When I arrive, I will focus on learning the language, so I can communicate with the children and parents in their heart language.

While being mentored and guided by the Aragons, I will assist with administration tasks and social media. I will also connect with and listen to CCP families’ stories, host short-term teams, and potentially run summer camps.
