Through our ministry Asian Outreach (AO), we seek to care for those living in impoverished communities all throughout Southeast Asia. We currently work in 18 countries, ministering alongside local churches and leaders to offer much-needed physical assistance while bringing hope and healing through the gospel message.
Given the tremendous needs of many of these communities, our focus has always been to assess and meet their greatest immediate concerns. Hence, we do this in a variety of ways, providing communities with clean water and sanitation, food, education, including health education, leadership training, antihuman trafficking training, etc. We also seek to plant a church in each community or empower the ones that already exist, to address the deep spiritual needs of those we seek to reach.
We especially choose to focus on helping children, youth, and women living in at-risk situations. As the executive director of AO, my (Noel’s) goal is to lead our staff and train up more leaders within these communities to effect lasting change. My desire is that all families would understand that they are made in God’s image.
We have been serving with Asian Outreach since 1990, having ministered in Thailand, Cambodia, and Hong Kong. I (Noel) have been AO’s executive director since 1998. We’re thankful that God has given us the opportunity to work directly with national leaders and teams in AO’s project countries, understand their needs, and work alongside of them to reach their communities’ physical and spiritual needs.
