As part of Mission Global and GlobalEd, we are founding the Ebenezer Institute of Ministry Formation in Mexico. The goal of Ebenezer Institute is to meet the urgent need for non-formal contextualized theological education with a perspective of Integral Mission, equipping local pastors and leaders in Mexico and Latin America. By leveraging the Ministry Essentials Training Program (METP), Ebenezer will aim to provide practical training for those called to pastoral ministry, church planting, or missionary service, as we work together to expand God’s Kingdom throughout Latin America and the world for His glory.
I (Toni), originally from Paraná, Brazil, and I (Erin), originally from Saskatchewan, Canada have been serving as full-time cross-cultural missionaries in Baja California, Mexico, since 2011, alongside our four children: Bella, Lucas, Joshua, and Olivia.
For 13 years, we served as the founding Managing Directors of Casa de Luz Ministries, a ministry which empowers single-parent families through a children’s center, youth mentorship, small business initiatives, and community outreach in Primo Tapia, Baja California, Mexico.
Over the years, we pursued further theological education—I (Erin) at Wheaton College and Fuller Seminary and I (Toni) at South American Theological Seminary—and focused on empowering local leaders. In 2024, we felt the Lord calling us to transition our ministry efforts to address the urgent need for contextualized theological equipping in Mexico and Latin America. This calling led to the birth of the Ebenezer Institute of Ministry Formation.
