Assistant & Outreach Pastor
A growing church plant in the Azores, Portugal is seeking an Assistant Pastor to disciple children and youth and help build a vibrant, Christ-centered community. This role focuses on teaching Scripture, mentoring the next generation, and engaging families through creative ministry and community outreach. Candidates should have a heart for evangelism, cross-cultural ministry, and youth discipleship, with Portuguese or Spanish language skills considered an asset. Musical ability is a plus, and a passion for seeing lives transformed by the gospel is essential.
Purpose
An Assistant Pastor is needed in Portugal (Azores) to support the growth and development of a vibrant new church plant. This role will focus on creating dynamic, Christ-centered programs that nurture spiritual growth among children and youth. The Assistant Pastor will work to build a strong foundation of biblical teaching, foster a sense of community among young believers, and empower the next generation to live out their faith. By cultivating meaningful relationships with families and partnering with the local community, the Assistant Pastor will play a vital role in advancing the mission of the church to bring the hope of Christ to the Azores Islands.
Skills
This individual should be passionate about ministering to children and youth, demonstrating a strong calling to disciple the next generation and nurture their spiritual growth. A heart for evangelism is essential, with the ability to share the gospel effectively and build meaningful relationships both within the church and the broader community. While not required, musical talent would be a valuable addition, enhancing worship and creating opportunities for creative expressions of praise. Knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is also a helpful asset, facilitating deeper connections with the local population. The ideal candidate will bring some experience in cross-cultural ministry, showcasing adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to serving in a diverse environment. This role calls for someone eager to support the growth of a new church plant by investing in its children, youth, and families, ultimately fostering a vibrant community of believers.
